FAQs
What is a Menopause Café?
A Menopause Café is an informal, community-led gathering where women meet to talk openly about menopause. The format was developed to break down the silence and stigma that often surrounds this stage of life. At CHC Menopause Café our sessions are run in Reading and are tailored to our local community, with a particular focus on inclusion and reaching women who might not otherwise have access to menopause support.
Is CHC Menopause Café a medical service?
No. CHC Menopause Café is a community organisation, not a medical service. We do not offer medical diagnoses, prescriptions, or clinical advice. What we offer is community, connection, information, and a safe space to talk. We always encourage women to speak with their GP or a healthcare professional about any medical concerns.
Is it free to attend?
Yes. Our sessions are free to attend. CHC Menopause Café is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company and we are committed to ensuring that cost is never a barrier to accessing support.
Where are you based?
CHC Menopause Café is based in Reading, Berkshire at the Reading Central Library Abbey Square Reading, RG1 3BQ
Session:Every 1st and 3rd Fridays (except bank holidays)

What should I expect at my first session?
Expect a warm welcome, a relaxed atmosphere, and a group of women who are there for the same reason you are. There is no set agenda, no requirement to speak, and absolutely no judgement. You can come, listen, have a cup of tea, and take it all in. Many women tell us they felt nervous before their first session and that those nerves disappeared within the first few minutes.
